Passports for travel into Canada and returning into the US are required for
commercial air travelers. At this time, US citizens are only required to
show a valid drivers' license or birth certificate to cross US/Canadian
borders via car or, in this case, bike. The passport-at-all-access rule is
slated to go into effect in 2008. I think I an correct on this matter, but,
of course, you should inquire at the custom and immigration authorities.
