Tom,
I live in Minneapolis and went out and did the Medora Races last May and
they were awesome! I've thought about trying to get a bus to haul
people from Minneapolis out there, but didn't know if I had enough
people to fill a bus. If you guys get a bus and don't fill it up, maybe
us Minneapolis guys could drive to Fargo and get on the bus there? I'm
a member of Loon State Cyclists in Minneapolis and I'm the secretary of
the Minnesota Cycling Federation (MCF) and if we can work something up,
I can post it on the message board. Another angle, my aunt runs the
AmericInn in Medora, it's possible we could work out a deal for cyclists
going to the race to stay there.

Kevin:
Fargo boys are trying to amp up their participation in the Medora race,
see idea below for bus.
Man that would be cool to have about 40 people in it rather than 20
total and 10 competative.

GPCC meeting tomorrow night (that's Tuesday night) at Amity Tech. 8PM
Be there....we're planning to discuss, among other items, how we should
spend money to support bike racing.
So,
Here's an idea that I've looked into. I'd like to get a little feedback
on it (e-mail or at the meeting) and I'd love to hear about your ideas
too.
Medora Stage Race Fun Bus
May 19th and 20th.
Usually we have 6 or 8 riders head out to Medora for this "Best in North
Dakota" bike race. We should be getting more....a lot more.
Let's hire a nice coach bus to drive racers/riders out to the race,
either to watch or to race. We could get a whole bunch of our rec
riders (remember we typically have close to 100 unique riders at our
weekly rides) out to the race.
The cost...about the same as jumping into cars....maybe $30/person.
The pitch.....c'mon, it's a fun bus.....a chance to be part of the
"team"
The cost to the club....If we sell it hard, we'd break even charging
$30/person at about 28 people. If we get only 15, we'd lose about $400.
I'd like to look at it as a lose-a-little proposition and try to get 20
or 25 racers out there.....maybe losing $200, but really getting a lot
more people aware of the event.
Any thoughts?
