Hello,
This week has been another good week for the group rides. We had about 15
people show up for Monday's and Wednesday's ride. Along with that we had 10
riders at the Adventist Academy Trail for Sunday's ride. The Academy along
with all of the other trails are in great riding condition. Make sure to
check them out sometime even if you can't make the group ride.
Next week's weather looks good so far. I once again am going to let the
beginners know that you are more than welcome to join in. Every week we
still see new faces and that is great, please don't be afraid to show up no
matter how green you are to singletrack.
Now for some other news of upcoming events. Some of you know and some of
you many not know Amy Shreve. She is now working for Specialized as a rep
for the Designs for Women line of products they make. She will have a line
up of women specific bikes at Sleepy Hollow on Monday June 9th, among other
products to try. This is a great chance to be able to ride some great
bikes. Here is the info she sent me. I will also be posting this on plus
other info on events she will be doing on www.mountainbikingx.com in the
next couple of days.
I just wanted to give you a list of my inventory of mountain bikes for the
mtb ride for Monday, June 9.
S-Works Safire –Small
S-Works Safire – Medium
Safire Expert – Small
Safire Comp – Medium
Safire Expert – Large
Era FSR Marathon – Small
Era FSR Marathon – Medium
Era FSR Marathlon – Medium
Era FSR Comp – Large
The women that are interested can either bring their own pedals or I can put
pedals on ( I have Crank Bros., SPD's, and platform pedals). I also have
about 10 helmets that women can try out. Also, have a couple pairs of mtb
shoes and some sweet optics. If they are interested in trying anything out
they will need to be sure to bring their ID and/or credit card.
Just a little run down on the bikes – the Safire is the sister to the
Stumpjumper – super sweet bike, especially the S-Works. That frame is full
carbon! SUPER light… The Era is the sister to the Epic. Really nice bike,
has the Brain rear shock, less travel than the Safire. The Safire has 5" of
travel and the Era has 3-4" of travel.
If any women are interested in trying out one of the bikes for that ride –
let me know, and I can be sure to have it ready for them.
Thanks,
Dale Schlatter
